Not much new music this time. I do have a track from Papa Wemba's latest double CD, MAITRE D'ECOLE, that is a very good song featuring JB Mpiana. Lots of other goodies for you, though, including a song by Choc Stars featuring Thethe on vocals, another song from the rare Boom des As album and a couple of very different songs featuring Kanda Bongo Man.

Nice show, David. Good to hear one off Papa Wemba's new one; one of the better tracks, in my opinion. What do you think of the rest of the CD? It's certainly not bad and has obviously had a lot of time and money spent on producing it, but I can't help thinking it would have been much better with an addition of some industrial-grade Bongo Wende.

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for your three requests. I have all of them and I've played the wonderful Bozi Boziana and Wuta Mayi alubums to death over the years. Did you listen to Bozi's newest? It has a number of remakes from Mon Marie. I don't see anything from Maika Munan's album on my tracklists, though...
